3 Zoya Polishes for $10 Shipped: My Pick

I have to admit, choosing the 3 Zoya polishes for $10 was NOT easy! I pretty much had to keep telling myself to step away from the mauves – and in the end I was able to limit it to only one: the beautiful Zoya Kate. By the way, one word of advice: do not trust the colors on the Zoya website! They are seriously, seriously off. Take some time to google the name of the polish and look at swatches – I almost bought a “coral” polish that turned out to be bright, almost neon orange when swatched.

My second choice was a jelly polish – I’ve read so much about them (especially about “jelly sandwiches”) and have been wanting one for a while. I was torn between Paloma and Katherine, but finally decided to go with the lighter Paloma. We do have the whole spring/summer season ahead, and brighter colors seem like such a welcome change from the darks of fall and winter.

The last one was such a struggle! On the one hand I wanted something out of my comfort zone, but on the other I didn’t want to get something I might end up not wearing at all… So the boring side of me won over and I got the nude-ish but lovely Pandora. I felt that it would be appropriate both for the office and for the upcoming warm weather, and I sure hope I didn’t make a mistake!

I think the one that puts me the most out of my comfort zone is Paloma – I certainly would’ve been more comfortable with the darker eggplant-ish Katherine, and I’m not even sure I’ll be able to get the hang of working with jellies! So I did get at least a little bit adventurous. Baby steps, right?

The holiday season has been pretty crazy for me, and with all the presents, celebrations and work stuff I’ve been having a bit of a struggle finding some “personal time” – an hour or so when you can relax and fully focus on doing something nice for yourself. So when I was finally able to fit that personal time into my schedule, it felt SO good that I decided to share! Maybe it will inspire some of you lovelies to indulge in some pampering. You definitely deserve it! ♥

One of my favorite “me time” things has to be giving myself a manicure, and I certainly needed one this time. The last time I had touched my nails was back in 2012, when I had taken off my Zoya Ziv polish. After that I hardly even used any cuticle oil, so my nails were not in the greatest shape.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I got my December Glossybox, and I’ve been actively using a lot of the products I’ve received. So far my absolute favorite has to be the Zoya Ziv nail polish. I had been wanting a gold nail polish for the holidays, and was super excited when I got the Ziv and not the Storm in my Glossybox – Storm is a beautiful black sparkly color, but I can’t wear colors as dark as that. For some reason on my nails they instantly look incredibly ugly, so I stay away from anything darker than a deep red burgundy.

I used the Ziv for my Christmas manicure (and of course the day before I broke one of my nails and had to do away with all the others – while I don’t typically do long nails, they are usually a bit longer than on the pictures) and here are my impressions: Continue reading
